What to Expect at Your Shred Servicing
When it comes to secure information destruction, preparation makes all the difference. Whether you’re scheduling a one-time purge or ongoing service, knowing what to expect—and how to prepare—can help your shredding day go smoothly, efficiently, and without delays.
At Liberty Shredding, we make the process simple from start to finish. Daniel, our dedicated shred truck driver, is the one who arrives onsite and handles all the heavy lifting and shredding, so you don’t have to. Still, there are a few important things to keep in mind ahead of your scheduled pickup to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Your Onsite Shredding Day: What to Expect When We Arrive
On your scheduled service day, Daniel, our shred truck driver, will arrive with our mobile shredding truck, ready to securely destroy your documents onsite. This means your sensitive information never leaves your location intact—giving you peace of mind and full transparency throughout the process.

From there:
- Daniel will collect your boxes, bags, or containers of documents
- Materials are securely shredded right at your location
- You’ll receive confirmation once the job is complete, along with a Certificate of Destruction for your records
- Payment can be made on-site via cash, check, or card
It’s designed to be fast, secure, and completely hands-off for you.
How to Be Prepared
A little preparation goes a long way in keeping your appointment on track. Here are a few key tips to help you get ready:
Keep Materials Dry
We work through rain or shine—but your documents should not. If boxes or bags are left outside and become wet, we will need to reschedule your service. Wet paper can jam equipment and compromise the shredding process, so be sure to:
- Store materials indoors or in a covered area
- Only place items outside right before your scheduled arrival (if necessary)
Use Our File Calculator Ahead of Time
Not all boxes are created equal. If you’re using containers other than standard banker boxes, we recommend trying out our file calculator ahead of time. This helps you:
- Estimate how much material you have
- Get a more accurate quote upfront
- Avoid surprises on service day
It’s a quick step that can save time and help you better plan your project.
Ground Floor Pickup is Preferred
To keep things efficient—and safe for everyone—we ask that shredding materials be placed on the ground floor whenever possible. Daniel handles all the lifting, but minimizing stairs helps speed up the process and reduce strain.

If stairs are unavoidable, no problem—we can still get the job done. Just keep in mind:
- A small additional fee may apply for stair access
- Let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly

Keep Access Clear & Simple
Make sure there’s a clear path to your shredding materials. This helps Daniel, our shred truck driver, move quickly and safely between the truck and your documents.
Helpful tips:
- Clear walkways and entry points
- Reserve a nearby parking space if possible
- Let your team know about the scheduled service
